This
word was given to me in the Spirit, and the passion to give it to
others has only grown in my life. This was the first of my "core messages" God gave me to preach to the nations. It is my calling to wake up the
passion in others, to remind them of their beloved and His call to
their hearts. He is causing a season of Great Awakening for us... and
is calling us to awake and hear His voice and walk out our calling. I
am constantly amazed at how many Christians suffer from fear,
anxiety, depression, hopelessness, helplessness and loneliness. God is
calling us to “Arise”, and be renewed in the spirit of our mind.
When
I speak to people about this subject I see a change in them. They
become energized, and reminded of who they really are in God. In this
season of Great Awakening, we are called to change this world. There
is no way I could have thought of this message on my own. My
imagination isn't that vivid. I believe God has given it to others
who deliver it to people in their own unique way. I know God has
given it to me to deliver to people in a way only I can. He formed me
for this. And it's not because I am any more special than anyone
else. I need to hear this as much as anyone.
There
are many points that I don't expand upon in this writing, and these
are basically my notes and scriptural references--but when I speak I
am careful to only say what I hear God saying, and what the Holy
Spirit whispers in my ear. I pray that God may open your heart to
hear His voice, and what this means to you.
God
does not renege on His gifts or promises. (Isaiah 31:2 , Hebrews
13:8... “He does not take back His words.”) He gave us the earth
to command and subdue. (Genesis 1:26-28, 1 John 5:5)
When
we are born again, we are “ a new creation” in Christ. Through
His Holy Spirit who resides in us, we can access (exist in, be
empowered by) the earthly realm as well as the heavenly realm. But do
we TRULY dwell in the heavenly realm as well, or just in the earthly
realm?
Heaven
is perfect. It has to be if it is God's home! It is His Kingdom! And
as Philippians 3:20 shows us, those who know Him are citizens of the
Kingdom. Jesus taught us to pray:
Matthew
6:9-10: “Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven,
hallowed (kept holy, make sacred) be Your name. Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Bringing heaven to
earth is not something we are to ask God to do, or just hope for.
Jesus is teaching us that it is our responsibility, as Christians who
are temples of the Holy Spirit, to bring Kingdom reality and Heaven
to earth now. How? By faith!
Our
power on earth depends upon how deeply we dwell in the heavenly
realm. How do we do that? We must believe,
first. We must soak in God's Word, gaining His Knowledge. And we
must have faith to access the
power of the Holy Spirit within us. God gives us a measure of faith
(Romans 12:3).
Jesus illustrates this in
Matthew 17:14-20 (also in Mark 9:17-29), when He healed the young man
after the disciples said they could not:
“14 And when they
approached the multitude, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him
and saying, 15 Lord, do pity and have mercy on my son, for he has
epilepsy (is moonstruck) and he suffers terribly; for frequently he
falls into the fire and many times into the water. 16 And I brought
him to Your disciples, and they were not able to cure him. 17 And
Jesus answered, O you unbelieving (warped, wayward, rebellious) and
thoroughly perverse generation! How long am I to remain with you? How
long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to Me. 18 And Jesus
rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured
instantly. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked privately,
Why could we not drive it out? 20 He said to them, Because of the
littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying
trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living]
like a grain of seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to
yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to
you.”
Jesus was frustrated with
the lack of trust of the Holy Spirit within them. He trusted God
100%, and relied on the Holy Spirit within Him to help him heal. He
tells us that we have the same ability, if we have but a little
faith! (Luke 17:6, John 14:12) Faith in God, the Holy Spirit, and (in
my opinion) in ourselves!
In Mark 16:15-20, Jesus
gives us what is now called by many “The Great Commission”:
“And
He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly
the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human
race]. 16 He
who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel
and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved from the
penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not
adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets
forth] will be condemned. 17
And these attesting
signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive
out demons; they will speak in new languages; 18
They will pick up
serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt
them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
Notice it says “and
they WILL get well” (emphasis mine). Not “may” or
“occasionally”.
Again in Acts 1:8-- “But
you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in
Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds)
of the earth.”
And again, after the
disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Peter had to
explain to over 1,000 people from the surrounding area (people from
many different regions) who had come to see what the noise was
(people speaking in foreign tongues after the filling of the Holy
Spirit) what they were seeing and hearing:
Acts 2:38-39:
“And
Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept
the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be
baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For
the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children,
and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as
the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself. “ (emphasis
mine)
Was
this power only available to us after Jesus' resurrection? If we
look back to the beginning of creation in Genesis, prior to the sin
in the garden Adam and Eve lived in both the heavenly and earthly
realms. We know this because when Adam was created by God, he wasn't
yet “in” the Garden”. God created Adam and placed him in the
Garden. God spoke directly to Adam (face to face). God , Adam and Eve
all lived in the same “realm”, where heaven and earth were
together. The Spirit of God hovered over the waters (Genesis 1;2).
God's Spirit was able to “walk in the Garden” (Genesis 3:8). Adam
heard God walking
(Genesis 3:10). God was therefore Spirit and physical. God spoke to
spirits and principalities .
Because of the sin of
Adam and Eve, God took the gift of His presence away. The heavenly
realm (spirit) was taken away from their knowledge base. We could no
longer live in the same place as God:
Genesis 3:23:
“Therefore the Lord God
sent him forth from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from which
he was taken. 24 So [God] drove out the man; and He placed
at the east of the Garden of Eden the cherubim and a flaming sword
which turned every way, to keep and guard the way to the tree of
life.”
Jesus became our “Last
Adam”, bringing back our access to heaven. In His very touching
attempt to prepare the Apostles for what was coming, Jesus explained
in John 14:11-21:
“Believe
Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me
for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me,
at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince
you.] 12 I
assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes
in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he
will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
13 And
I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and
extolled in (through) the Son. [Exod. 3:14.] 14
[Yes] I will grant
[I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM]. 15
If you [really] love
Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. 16
And I will ask the
Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper,
Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain
with you forever— 17
The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to
its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him.
But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you
[constantly] and will be in you.”
We are again in the same situation as Adam and Eve. We are given a choice as to whether or not we choose to walk with God, or entertain the enemy. The enemy has no voice in this decision, unless we give him that ability. The enemy cannot interfere in our interaction with God, unless we allow it. He has no power other than what we give him. Remember, he is just a jealous, fallen angel. Do not ever make the enemy equal to God. He is not omnipotent (all powerful).
When God took away access to the tree of Life (see Genesis 3:23 as quoted above), He did not take away our dominion over the earth. However we are unable to subdue the earth without the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit, we are merely humans, existing solely in the natural (earthly) realm. We have no powers to perform signs, wonders and miracles. We can only do these things by being temples of the Holy Spirit, accessing heaven on earth, utilizing His power. In order to do this, we must:
- Accept Christ as
our Savior.
- Believe in the
Word of God, and all it says we are and can do.
- Gain Wisdom from
the Word, and from God directly (spending time with Him)
- Accept and
receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 12)
- Mature in faith
by trusting God, increasing prayer with Him, and developing an
intimate relationsip with God, to learn His heart and see His
Kingdom.
- Ask God to
manifest His presence in you, renewing the baptism of the Holy
Spirit until the gifts that were promised are manifested through
you.
- Begin to ACT
out Kingdom principles now. That is not about making
right choices, never making mistakes and being a good person. It's
about living more in the spiritual realm (supernatural or heavenly),
bringing God's Kingdom to earth, in whatever way He asks you to,
even in your imperfection. It is His perfect heart that brings
signs, wonders and miracles in the Holy Spirit, if we humbly allow
Him to use all that we are.
Take a minute and ask yourself: Which realm do I spend more time in—physical or spiritual? What can I do today to live more in the Kingdom realm? How can I bring heaven to earth today? Am I thwarting the efforts of the enemy at every opportunity? Am I utilizing the Holy Spirit power given by God? As Randy Clark puts it, “Do I believe He can use even Little Ol' Me?”
Jesus
is the”Last Adam”, as we read in 1 Corinthians 15:
“Thus
it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an
individual personality); the Last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving
Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. [Gen. 2:7.] 46 But it
is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical and then
the spiritual. 47 The first man [was] from out of earth, made of dust
(earthly-minded); the Last Man [is] the Lord from out of heaven.
[Gen. 2:7.] 48 Now those who are made of the dust are like
him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is [the
Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven
(heavenly-minded). 49 And just as we have borne the image
[of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image
[of the Man] of heaven.”
We are called to be as
“the man from heaven” (heavenly-minded) and bear the image of
Christ.
We,
as Bride of the Last Adam, are the Last Eve:
Revelation
19:7--”Let us rejoice and shout for joy [exulting and triumphant]!
Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage
of the Lamb [at last] has come, and His bride has prepared herself.”
Are we prepared for the
final battle against the enemy? What decisions will I make when
presented by temptations and interference from the enemy? God gave us
everything we need. As the Last Eve, what will your decision be--
because In the end, we win!
We
must restore the earth to it's original, pre-sin state.
Keep
in mind, we know that God's promises are irrevocable (Romans11:29).
Isaiah 31:2 says “He (God) is wise and..... does not retract his
words.” I feel that from that we can believe that God's promises
and gifts will not be taken away from the faithful. And the same can
be said of His commands.
God created a new
commandment that includes all the previous commandments in one word:
Love. We must subdue the earth in love. We must overpower the
enemy's interference in the lives of all God's beloved. We must love
each other with His love, and our enemies, too (Matthew 5:44).
We
must overcome the enemy.
Revelation
2:7 He who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of
Life, which is in the paradise of God.
We
are The Last Eve.
