Gifts and Anointings

by Pastor Sharron Scott
March 28, 2011

Quite some time ago I was chatting with Father God about spiritual gifts and other things. I wanted to make sure I was clear about how He sees things. I feel that this is what He said to me:

"My gifts are not given for your own edification, but by My Spirit," says the Lord God, "for the instruction and blessing of others. I do not give them lightly. If you tell Me I am to use you for My purpose, you must accept these gifts as they are given—each according to your situation in life at that time. Don't wait for a more opportune time. Use them as I lead you, without boasting of them and accepting no reward or acknowledgement other than what I give you. Be of great joy and peace, for I am with you and will not depart from you. For I have claimed you as My own."

I asked Him about "revival" and this is what came rumbling out, when I felt His heart:

Regarding our call for Revival:

We call for revival because we fear. We see the mess we have made, and we BEG God to clean it up. We BEG God to save us from the enemy. Our cries are nothing new to His holy ears. Mankind has lived according to his own will, wallowing in his own complacency, abusing God’s BEAUTIFUL creation (earth) to suit his own cravings. God never meant for this world to be used this way. His perfect plan did not include destruction. His world was designed with perfect order, all things supporting and sustaining a perfect balance. He created this world out of His perfect love for us. Don’t blame Satan for the destruction of this world. Blame humankind. WE have done this through our perverted will. We had, and have a choice to love and serve our Perfect Father, or love and serve our own will. So why should God hear our cries THIS time? Do we cry out to Him out of sorrow for our actions, and in hope that He will heal us? Do we cry out in fear that the enemy is indeed finally in charge of God’s creation, and we are at the enemy’s mercy? Do we cry out to God so He can "fix" our Mess, so we can return to our self serving, complacent, destructive behaviors until things get bad again and we need to call on Him again? None of these cries will be heard! None of these pleas are valid! There is only ONE cry the Lord our God will hear. Only ONE cry that is valid. Only ONE cry He will come running to answer:

Do you love the Lord our God more than life? More than any ONE or any THING? Do you CRAVE seeing His precious face above all? Will you forget everything you have ever known to hear His holy Word? Do you forsake fear and embrace love for Him? Do you denounce all earthly pleasures and take up His purpose? When you call for revival, what is it you are asking for?

PRAYER:

Lord God, we are so very sorry for the mess we have made of your beautiful creation! We have corrupted every living thing and used it for our own gratification instead of holding up each grain of sand, each blade of grass, each hair on our heads and proclaiming Your Glory! We do not ask for revival out of sorrow for our repeated failure to heed your guidance. Since the dawn of time, You have given us perfection. You have forgiven our sins and embraced us when we finally turned to you. When no sacrifice was enough, you gave us your own Son. Then, when we turned away from you time and time again, you patiently awaited our return. Forgive us, Father God.

Now, oh Lord, we shed this self we have become. Now, oh Lord, we seek ONLY YOU. Now, oh Lord, we lie at Your feet and cry out. We submit to Your holy will, oh Lord. We nourish that which is us with your goodness. We call for revival of YOU in us. Revive Jesus in us. Revive Your Holy Spirit in us.

THIS is our call for revival:
Renew us, Lord. Sanctify us for your glory!
